The Queen

Until recently known as “Almighty Lordette of All Things Good and Evil”, “Your Uber-uber-uber-Highness”, “Your Royal-looking, Insanily-clever Majesty” and other high-class titles, you may know refer to me as Morgan since for most of you that will probably be hard enough to remember anyway.

For now it will suffice to say that this supreme example of intelligence was born about seventeen years ago, on the second of July to be exact (buy me an early/late birthdaypresent?) in a small village in Flandres, Belgium. I am quite aware of the fact most of you probably do not know the exact location of this mysterious country named Belgium, but some reminders of the heroic history of said country are coming later on.

Shortcuts:

Belgium? Oh yeh, I know, that weird little cookie…No?

Rather than being some tasty yummy cookie, Belgium is a country. No, I’m not kidding. It is situated right above France and is part of the Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg). Right above Belgium one can find The Netherlands , on its left side is the Northern Sea and on the right Germany is situated. In case none of the countries mentioned above sound familiar to you, all of them are situated in Europe.

  1. Believe it or not, but the most part of World War I was fought on Belgian ground. We, brave Belgians, fought off the enemy somewhere near a river somewhere in Flandres…Well, history is really of no importance, as long as you know we were there! (Of other relevance is that there were also English, French, … present.)
  2. We have the monopoly on chocolate. Honestly, you will never find chocolate as good as Belgian chocolate anywhere else in the world. Jealous yet?
  3. Since we are so damn small no one actually knows our exact location, this comes actually in quite handy during warfare, when it’s time to pay taxes or to actually do something for our government/the EU.
  4. It is believed we are the bravest of all citizens of Gaul. Do not believe me? Why don’t you go and check our dear mate, Julius Caesar for some references…(De Bello Gallico, by Julius Caesar)

Hobbies and stuff

My main sparetime activity is probably spending time online, either working on my own bunch of websites or reading through some interesting articles, browsing other weblogs or writing some tutorials. I am interested in almost everything that has to do with world wide web, from valid XHTML coding to accessibility to the Web 2.0 design styles. I am a true Standardista and get insanely nervous and stressed when my website fails to be up to standards.

I also enjoy writing fanfiction, mostly situated in the HP Universe but ever since the release of POTC: At World’s End, I’ve felt obligated to write some POTC fanfiction too. Most of my work can be found either at Quizilla or Fanfiction.net. HP Fanfiction is mostly situated at ToujoursPur.

When I am not writing fanfiction, I might be working on my very own (dutch) novel, entitled ‘In The Darkest Hour’. The novel handles about the experiments that took place during World War II and follows the life of a jewish girl in one of the experimental camps. It is not a happy story, but rather one that takes a lot of its writer. Therefore I doubt it will be finished very soon; although I have enough inspiration, I constantly feel emotionally drained when writing it. It is very demanding, but I’m sure I will pull through eventually. :)

Reading is another one of my favourite hobbies. You might be able to think of one fantasy book I have not yet read, but you really cannot think of two, believe me. I read everything that is ‘adult’ fantasy, ranging from Feist’s Magician to Hobb’s King’s Assassin and everything in between. I already have a large collection of them book showcased in my house too (which annoys the hell out of my Mom) but there is always room for more.

I do not really enjoy watching television, but when there is a good film on, I am most likely to watch. Else, it would probably need Buffy, the Vampire Slayer or Angel (and maybe some others) to rip me away from my computer screen. Watching DVDs is also something that only happens occassionaly with me and mostly involves a compilation of all Matrix films or all POTC films. Yes, I am addicted. (We should all blame Johnny Depp for that and…why is the rum gone?)

Although writing is my main artistic passion (and I really do write everything, sometimes even poetry) I am either drawing, webdesigning in Paint Shop Pro, creating pixels in MSPaint, taking photographs or painting something. I am a true art-addict: I like and enjoy all forms of art, whether they be traditional or digital. For me, it is a way to get my inner feelings and visions out.

When I am not at home doing one of those things, you can either find me at some party (read: you can find me at a party every single saturday night) or at practising with my brassband, which fortunately only happens on Sunday morning. You can probably imagine that I am never really awake during practice. Anyway, I love going out with my friends. Parties are at the top of my list, but I also enjoy just going to get some drinks, having dinner at some fancy (fastfood)restaurant or pain old shopping. You can hardly call me a prep, but I do enjoy having nice clothes.

The School-Lifestyle: kick back and relax…

I am not really fond of school: I go because I have to. Currently, I’m a senior (which means I’m in the last year of high school) taking Latin-Modern Languages classes and planning on going to university next year. It is my wish to read law and later on begin  my own lawfirm. The main reason why I want to go to university is because I know my father would be extremely proud if he knew I was fulfilling a dream which he could not fulfill when he was younger, because he was never allowed to go to university. I just want to make him proud, as well as myself.

My friends (or the people who choose to hang around with me)

I love my friends, each and everyone of them. They are my life. There is nothing I would not do for those who can call themselves my closest friends, and I’m sure they all know whether they belong to this category or not. I hope my friends know that they can ask me anything and I will do everything in my power to help them out. I am not a very nurturing or caring person by nature, but I do love my friends deeply and feel very protective over them when needed. They deserve it though: they always manage to cheer up my day, make me smile, laugh with my jokes (even the silly ones) and are always there when I need someone to talk you. Thank you all, guys, and I love you all. :)
